Catalyst is always happy to work with clients to develop or tailor training to meet specific needs, our extensive range of existing programmes includes the following.
How to Implement Lean Six Sigma
This two day programme was originally developed on behalf of the EFQM as part of their ‘How to' series of workshops. It introduces Lean Six Sigma and covers a range of topics to help organisations set-up, manage and deploy an effective approach.
Champions
For successful projects it is important that Champions follow a systematic approach that includes regular tollgate reviews. It is also key that a Project Champion supports them. This programme looks at the role of the Champion and the importance of the tollgate reviews. Additionally, it covers the underlying principles and concepts associated with Lean Six Sigma, with key tools and techniques introduced in a practical way.
Yellow Belt
This programme is designed to equip participants with an understanding of the basic concepts, tools and techniques. It should help them with their involvement in Lean Six Sigma Improvement projects, and in their day-to-day work. It is a lighter version of our Green Belt Foundation programme, focusing on the tools and techniques they are likely to come across in early projects.
Green Belt Foundation
This programme provides the background and detail for people to successfully undertake and complete Lean Six Sigma Improvement projects. It is usually run over five or six days in two or three modules. This enables the participants to immediately apply the training to their projects, and bring their experience and outputs to the next module(s).
The Foundation content is Minitab free¸ but there is a natural progression through our two-day Minitab and Measures programme to introduce people to this software and its application.
Minitab and Measures
As indicated, this two-day course provides a natural upgrade route from the Green Belt Foundation programme, but it can also be taken as a stand-alone option. In this respect, it is ideal for people involved in the preparation, collation and analysis of management information and performance data, but who might not otherwise be involved in Lean Six Sigma projects, for example.
Black Belt
This training follows on from the Green Belt Foundation programme. Ideally, participants will already have completed a Green Belt project or two, and are now ready to look at the wider range of tools and techniques available.
It is run as an additional 10 days, split into modules, although it can be taken as a straight 16 day programme. Other options for advancing to Black Belt from Green Belt can be taken through our extensive Open Programme.
Design for Six Sigma
In an increasingly competitive world, innovation, and the rapid introduction of new products and services is key to business success. But the design should ensure Six Sigma performance.
This four-day programme assumes participants have at least a basic awareness of Lean Six Sigma. It explains the design methodology and how to apply it, focusing on the ‘House of Quality’ as the foundation.
Lean Thinking in the Office
This stand-alone programme provides a practical introduction to Lean Thinking concepts, tools and techniques. The focus is on office activities whether it is in a service or manufacturing operation.
Our experience shows that the opportunity for Lean Thinking activity in the back office of manufacturing companies is often overlooked, even though the approach may have been long established on the shop floor.
Managing Change
This three-day programme looks at the ‘soft stuff’ – the tools required to successfully lead and complete Lean Six Sigma projects. Although a number of relevant tools are covered in our Green and Black Belt programmes, the focus here is on change management, team building, and conflict resolution. It can be taken as a stand-alone course by anyone involved in managing change.
