The Challenge
A national public science and research organisation set out to embed a sustainable culture of continuous improvement (CI) while improving delivery performance across complex, multidisciplinary programmes. The organisation needed to move beyond isolated improvements to create consistent, scalable ways of working that would deliver measurable outcomes and long-term value.
Our Approach
As a long-term partner, we supported organisation-wide transformation, working from senior leadership through to delivery teams. Our approach combined Lean Six Sigma capability building, leadership development, expert facilitation and Agile coaching
Continuous improvement was embedded across four directorates and seven national laboratory departments, scaling from an initial cohort of 12 learners to a mature, multi-year CI programme delivering certified Yellow and Green Belt projects.
From 12 initial learners to 33 certified CI projects – with more than 60 active or planned.
Alongside this, we provided Agile coaching to support complex engineering and data-driven programmes. Teams adopted structured sprint cadences, improved planning and prioritisation, and embedded modern digital tools for transparency and flow.
