Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Programme
Green Belt training is the professional standard for anyone serious about process improvement. Over six engaging days, you’ll build the capability to lead DMAIC projects from start to finish – defining the problem, collecting and interpreting data, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions that genuinely stick. Accredited and highly regarded, this course is equally valuable whether you’re pursuing formal certification or simply want to apply Lean Six Sigma to deliver results in your day-to-day work.
Introduction
The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Programme teaches you how to lead process improvement projects using the DMAIC framework. It suits those new to process improvement and experienced practitioners alike, particularly those who want to see how familiar techniques fit into a coherent, structured methodology. Applicable across all industries, it is also the first module of the BQF Black Belt and Business Black Belt certification programmes, making it a natural stepping stone for those who want to extend their learning and practice further.
Our approach blends AI capability with critical thinking. Course Details:
-
We open by introducing the core principles and concepts underpinning Lean and Six Sigma, exploring project selection and the essentials of change management to set the context for the DMAIC journey ahead.
-
The Define phase establishes a laser-sharp focus on the problem to be solved. We develop an improvement charter, map the process at high level using SIPOC, and capture the voice of the customer and the business, translating needs into critical-to-quality requirements. We introduce a range of project management tools and set the project up for success.
-
In Measure, we build a clear picture of the current process and how it is performing today. Tools used in this phase include process stapling, value-added flow analysis and process mapping, data collection plans, operational definitions, and Statistical Process Control charts.
-
The Analyse phase identifies and verifies the causes of poor performance. We use a range of root cause analysis tools, and apply data analysis techniques including Pareto charts, scatter diagrams, hypothesis tests and regression analysis to confirm the true root causes.
-
Here we generate, select and test solutions, We introduce tools for creativity and ideas generation, explore Lean solutions such as pull processing, changeover reduction and 5S, and apply prioritisation tools to select the best option. We also use risk assessment and error-proofing to strengthen the solution before piloting and implementation.
-
In Control, we implement the solutions and put the structures in place to make them stick. Calculating the benefits realised is an important element here. We’ll also show you how to capture your improvement story, so achievements can be shared and celebrated.
