Advanced Green Belt Programme
Whether you’re an existing Green Belt looking to extend your measurement and analysis toolkit, or starting fresh and want to cover all Green Belt and Advanced Green Belt content in one structured programme, this is your next step. Here we’ll deepen your analytical capability, equipping you to tackle more complex improvement challenges using rigorous, data-driven methods.
Introduction
The Advanced Green Belt programme comprises the six-day Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course plus six more days focused on ststistical tools using Minitab software.
Building on the DMAIC framework, this programme develops advanced technical skills, including Measurement Systems Analysis, process sampling, statistical process control, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
Advanced Green Belt, rather than standard Green Belt, is usually necessary for practising engineers, scientists and business analysts who have roles which typically require significant use of measurement and data analysis. It’s also required by Green Belts who now need to start using data more extensively. Advanced Green Belt is also a stepping-stone on the way to Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Participants will be able to:
- Apply the core DMAIC problem-solving approach alongside Six Sigma and Lean principles
- Map and measure processes, working confidently with process data and variation
- Present data effectively to engage and influence stakeholders
- Validate data integrity and sample processes correctly
- Use Statistical Process Control charts and assess process capability (Cp/CpK)
- Analyse data using a range of hypothesis and regression tests
- Apply measurement systems analysis, including Gauge R&R studies
- Make sound, data-based decisions and apply appropriate Six Sigma measures

Why choose this programme?
This extensive programme equips improvement practitioners with the powerful tools and statistical techniques to take their practice to the next level. Delegates build the confidence to work with data, analyse processes rigorously, and use evidence to influence colleagues and drive sound decisions.
The programme is BQF accredited and worth 96 CPD points. It provides a stepping-stone towards Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Delivery Information / Options
The programme is available as a Virtual Open Classroom course, a Self-Study Online Course, or delivered in-company.
Minitab statistical software is used throughout modules two and three.
Modules in this course:
-
The programme begins with the six-day Lean Six Sigma Green Belt programme. Delegates learn the full DMAIC methodology, gaining a solid grounding in the concepts and principles of Lean Six Sigma and the structured problem-solving approach needed to deliver impactful process improvements. If you are already Green Belt trained aligned to the British Quality Foundation Green Belt Body of Knowledge, you don’t need to attend this module.
-
This module delivers a comprehensive toolkit for analysing and understanding process data. You’ll develop a thorough grounding in graphical and statistical analysis tools using Minitab statistical software. Topics include:
- Attribute Agreement Analysis – assess the capability of your decision making processes
- Sampling and Confidence Intervals – the right way to sample a process to ensure sound interpretation and analysis
- Statistical Process Control – interpret the behaviour of your process and the appropriate action to take to improve performance
- Assessing normality of data
- Capability Analysis – metrics to quantify performance of a stable process against customer expectations
- Hypothesis Testing – analysis tools to test theories and establish statistical significance
- Regression Analysis – model the relationship between process variables and make predictions
-
This module goes deeper into the statistical foundations of Lean Six Sigma. You’ll cover full Measurement Systems Analysis including Gauge R&R, Gauge Linearity and Stability studies, and further capability analysis including non-normal analysis. Building on the regression training from the previous course, you’ll now learn multiple regression techniques: model building, multicollinearity, curvilinear and categorical predictors, and data transformation.
Open Training
Purchase includes 12 months access to Catalyst’s Business Improvement Zone for materials and slides.
