Why practitioners choose this programme
The Business Black Belt is fully accredited by the British Quality Foundation and leads to BQF Black Belt level certification, on an equal footing in rigour and status with the traditional BQF Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. The programme is also fully accredited by the Lean Competency System and leads to LCS Level 2b certification. Choose whichever certification you prefer. In addition, ICAgile certifications are awarded on completion of the ICAgile modules. This comprehensive development programme builds rounded, versatile consultants and dramatically improves employment prospects.
Delivery Information / Options
The Business Black Belt is available as open enrolment virtual training or as an in-house programme tailored to your organisation’s specific context and challenges. Each module is delivered by an expert practitioner in that field with hands-on industry experience.
Modules in this course:
-
The programme begins with the six-day Lean Six Sigma Green Belt programme. Delegates learn the full DMAIC methodology, gaining a solid grounding in the concepts and principles of Lean Six Sigma and the structured problem-solving approach needed to deliver impactful process improvements. If you already hold a BQF Green Belt certificate (or equivalent) you will be able to skip this module.
-
This module develops the facilitation, communication and leadership skills needed to engage people and deliver sustainable change. Delegates explore how individuals and teams experience change, building the capability to guide them through uncertainty, overcome resistance and create lasting behavioural impact. Using the SIMPLE model as a framework, the programme combines practical facilitation techniques with proven approaches for gaining and sustaining commitment, enabling participants to lead operational, cultural and digital change with confidence.
-
This module delivers a comprehensive toolkit for analysing and understanding process data. You’ll develop a thorough grounding in graphical and statistical analysis tools using Catalyst’s intuitive CatStat AI enabled statistical analysis software. Topics include:
- Attribute Agreement Analysis – assess the capability of your decision -making processes
- Sampling and Confidence Intervals – the right way to sample a process to ensure sound interpretation and analysis
- Statistical Process Control – interpret the behaviour of your process and the appropriate action to take to improve performance
- Assessing normality of data
- Capability Analysis – metrics to quantify performance of a stable process against customer expectations
- Hypothesis Testing – analysis tools to test theories and establish statistical significance
- Regression Analysis – model the relationship between process variables and make predictions
- 12 month CatStat Pro licence is included in the cost of the Business Black Belt programme. There is no need to buy Minitab to undertake this training
- If you require Minitab based Advanced Green Belt or Black Belt training – we do run these so please enquire
-
Centred on Value Stream Mapping as a strategic tool for engaging leadership in end-to-end transformation, the programme moves from mapping current reality and designing a better future state through to implementation and change management, while building the systemic thinking, leadership behaviours and Lean Management routines needed to sustain a genuine CI culture long-term.
-
This module addresses how to embed agility, innovation and continuous improvement at an organisational level, not just within individual teams. Moving beyond tools and frameworks, the programme develops the strategic mindset, culture and operating models needed to consistently deliver value in times of change and uncertainty, covering purpose-driven organisational design, customer value definition, experimental thinking, value stream mapping, Kanban and Lean principles.
-
This module builds a practical grounding in Agile mindset, values, principles and ways of working, without being tied to a single framework or methodology. Operating within a self-organising Agile team, you will experience Agile through immersive simulations, collaborative exercises and facilitated reflection that develop both the skills and the behavioural habits needed for real-world adoption.
-
This module is built around a powerful idea: wouldn’t it be better to design things right from the start? Covering both Design for Six Sigma and Design Thinking, the programme equips delegates to contribute effectively as members of a design team, eliminating waste and variation at the point of design rather than correcting it downstream.
-
This practical one-day workshop is designed to help CI leaders and Change Agents cut through the noise around automation and AI, and understand where these technologies genuinely fit within a Continuous Improvement context. It discusses how the CI leader can both leverage AI to improve processes and use Lean Thinking to deploy AI better.
